Maybe it's already planned but the route should be edited to include the Inland Rail Trail from the Buena Creek Train Station instead of riding on Santa Fe.
Since not every NCCC Route Manager is fully comfortable editing legacy routes in the NCCC RWGPS Route Library, usually created by someone else, the decision to use the IRT going either way is usually made by ride leaders on the day of the ride. I know I have many routes that I've put in there over the years that really aren't worth editing. And, I think we all agree that more facilities like the IRT to bypass major arterials are a great idea.
