Trouble mounting tires on your new tubeless ready wheels?

As tubeless takes over the world and it becomes harder to find non tubeless ready wheels or tires, many of us have had trouble mounting tires on the wheels.  I know I have.  It seems for these tubeless ready wheels, you need to mount the tires opposite from what many of us have learned.  Instead of starting at the value and ending on the opposite side, you start on the opposite side, making sure the bead is in the deeper central channel of the wheel and end near the value.  Why?  The value takes up the space of the channel and makes it difficult to get the tire mounted.  I've had this conveyed to me 3 times this past week as I was looking for "easy to mount tires" after being on the side of 76 for 30 minutes trying to mount a tire, with a special mounting tool with 2 friend.  It literally took all three of us pulling on the damn tire to get it mounted.

Here is an article (and good site) that describes it.  https://intheknowcycling.com/best-tubeless-tires/

I also met a person at a new local company that sells some tire and other items, nice folks.  If you want to support a local company (yes, prices are a bit higher), give them a try...  https://puregravel.com/

Good post Anthony, I've run across a few riders with the same problem, it took me a few months before I got that figured out. Saw a couple of guys break their tire levers on a tubeless repair. Pure Gravel has a Sunday ride leaving from Rouleur brewery in Carlsbad, starts after 9.
