Most cycling friends I know use a Garmin or Wahoo device to keep track of mileage and such.
However, many of these same people don't use this device to its fullest capacity, in terms of
routing. They either don't know how to transfer a ridewithgps file to their bicycle computer
or just desire relying upon paper routing.  For those that desire to use their computer to keep
track of the ride they're on, there are various ways to do so:

1.  I believe this is the easiest way:  https://ridewithgps.com/help/export-routes-to-garmin-device

2.  Garmin has several suggestions, which, IMO, are more cumbersome:

Give it a try!

And also, the cumbersome shenanigans with physically exporting files to a computer and then uploading may simply not be required with the continuing evolution of bike computers. For example, for my Wahoo Bolt, I just select Starred routes on the Bolt and any RWGPS route that I pinned is just automagically there upon a sync with my wifi at home, or if I forget to sync, I just open the Wahoo app at a start of the ride and my pinned (aka starred on Wahoo) route is selectable and transferred via bluetooth in a few seconds. No cumbersome file exports, cables, computers, etc. required. All that is required is letting the Wahoo have access to my RWGPS account, a one time setup with your Wahoo account.
